The History of Human Rights in Canada

The CBTU Education Department is pleased to be offering our first Human Rights in Canada workshop to be delivered on February 7th, 2026. Thank you to all who registered. The class is now fully booked. If, for any reason, you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may offer your spot to another member.
Inspired by June Veecock, former Human Rights Director of the Ontario Federation of Labour, CBTU Ontario Canada is celebrating our 30th anniversary since our formation as a Chapter of CBTU International in 1996. We will be gathering in February during the second UN Decade for People of African Descent which runs from January 2025 to December 2034.
For more details see the attached event poster. A special thank you to our partner organizations Asian Canadian Labour Alliance and Canadian Union of Public Employees as well as our funding partners: Unions Savings and Cavalluzzo for their contributions towards this course. See attached sponsorship page.
Although this CBTU hosted workshop is full, if your Union is interested in re-offering the workshop and/or co-sponsoring this workshop please contact the CBTU Education department for more information. The link to the CBTU Education department is available on this website.
See you there!
