Reminder: Tickets Still Available for the CBTU 19th Annual Awards Dinner, Dance & Fundraiser

Dear members and supporters,

This is a friendly reminder that tickets are still on sale for our fundraising event. Annual Awards Dinner, Dance and Fundraiser. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at Le Parc Dining & Banquet - 8432 Leslie Street, Thornhill Ontario L3T 7M6. There will be a “Meet and Greet” from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a cash bar and Dinner will start promptly at 7:00 pm.
You can purchase a table of ten (10) at the cost of $850.00 and included with that purchase is a listing of your organization in the evening’s program. Individual tickets are also available at a cost of $90.00. CBTU Report Card on Candidates for Canadian Prime Minister

The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Ontario Chapter (CBTU) has developed a report card on each party platform. These grading scores were the result of consultations within the African-Canadian community. Add your comment to any party position with a grade to make our voices heard on the issues that matter to our community in this election!

CBTU Golf Tournament

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS,

We are proud to announce that the CBTU Ontario Canada Chapter will be hosting its very first golf tournament at the beautiful Richmond Hill Golf Course August 4th, 2015. This is a brand new initiative we are launching in an effort to raise funds for scholarships in the African Canadian Community.

CBTU 2015 International Convention

The CBTU 44th International Convention is currently underway in Chicago, IL from May 21-25, 2015. A Canadian delegation of approximately 30 are present. If tweeting about the convention, please use #CBTUCONVENTION2015. Are you seeking to watch the convention online? The link is available through www.cbtu.org. Canadians will be representing throughout the conference. Sid Ryan, OFL President, gave welcoming remarks on Thursday morning. At 2:30pm Thursday , Chris Wilson will be a Moderator for the Mass Incarceration Panel, and Toronto Organiser Janaya Khan is a panelist. On Saturday's morning session, Yolanda McClean will be the Presiding Officer, and Hassan Yusseff, CLC President will be a speaker. On Saturday at 1:30pm, Marie Clarke Walker will be a panelist on the Politics Panel. Throughout the conference, Canadians will debate and comment on resolutions and panel discussions; so please stay tuned online. Enjoy the convention!
